2nd & 3rd Grade Essay Writing
Sentences are great! Words strung together can create powerful stories and poems that captivate the imagination. Sentences can also be confusing. Writing involves a ton of rules on sentence structure and it can all start to feel like a mystery. If your young learner is able to read and has written basic sentences, then this class can help them build their essay writing foundation.
This course is divided into 3 parts: Parts of Speech, Writing Paragraphs, Writing Responses to Literature.
4th and 5th Grade Writing: Introduction to Essay Writing
This class introduces the 5-paragraph essay. Students will learn the core components of writing an essay while completing two narrative essays. This is accelerated writing course is divided into 3 parts: Review Parts of Speech, Learning to Write a Narrative Essay, Practice Writing a Narrative Essay. No printouts are required for class work.
4th and 5th Grade Writing Essay Writing Level 2: Opinion Essay and Literary Analysis
Using the 5-paragraph essay format students explore different types of essays commonly written by this grade level. Students will practice the core components of writing an essay, and complete two essays (one opinion essay and one literary essay). Previous experience with writing a narrative essay is required.
Book Club: Reading and Discussing Fairytales
Students will revisit classic fairytales in this weekly Book Club. Each week students will read a different story out loud in a group setting* before diving into our project of the week. Projects will vary and include: written responses, poems, collages, crafts, and drawings.

Book Club: Classic Literature for Kids
Some books are fads and some are classics that withstand the test of time. Less gimmicky than many of today’s modern fiction books, these books prove that stories can be just as fun even if they don’t have magical creatures in mythical lands. Each week students will read out loud in a group setting* before diving into our project of the week. Projects will vary and include: written responses, poems, collages, crafts, and drawings.

Book Club: Action Adventures
This book club features a collection of swash buckling adventures that withstand the test of time. Reading adaptations (shortened versions) of American classics, your kiddo will gobble up each book with enthusiasm. Following our reading time, students will discuss the story before extending our conversation using drawings, creative writing, or Kahoot.

Ages 8-14: Learn Typing & Computer Skills
In this 6-week typing & computer literacy course, students the function to improve their online learning including: typing with two hands, how to use a mouse, how to copy and paste, how to save a file. This class is designed to help students learn to type with confidence without looking at the keyboard or resorting to typing one finger at a time. Students will learn to type based on what they see, hear, and think.
Ages 8-14: Learn Typing & Computer Skills Level 2
In this 6-week typing & computer literacy course, students will continue to grow their computer literacy skills by focusing on: typing with two hands, typing what they see, typing what they hear, typing from thought, and more common keyboard shortcuts. This class places a greater emphasis on typing speed and includes collaborative games. Each class is gamified. Using a combination of teacher directed activities and typing software, this class makes learning to type fun.
