About Course

This class introduces the 5 paragraph essay. Students will learn the core components of writing an essay, and how to apply these skills to narrative essays. This class includes: weekly writing exercises and video instructions. Families are not required to print anything, as all assignments can be completed online. Previous experience with essay writing is not required.

Students are welcome to submit their written work for feedback by the instructor. The course is designed to allow students to submit assignments to the instructor weekly for feedback. As this is a self-paced course, it is up to each family to decide whether they would like their child to submit assignments for feedback.

Prerequisites:
– Basic computer literacy (all assignments are turned in using Google Docs & Nearpod) which requires typing and clicking links.
– Some knowledge of grammar is helpful even if the student is unclear about the difference between a noun and a verb.

*** In order to receive essay feedback, families should use the Google Doc/ Nearpod link provided by the teacher. The teacher will be unable to give feedback on homework assignments that are received as PDF or photos. ***
